Kirkuk Now website officially launched

Kirkuk Now: Judit Neurink, the General Director of Independent Media Center in Kurdistan, Shwan Muhamad, the consultant for the website, Khidhir Domle, media lecturer and Jantine Van Herwijnen, general manager of Kirkuk Now each explained the website’s nature, it’s mission and vision to the attendants at Melody Café hall, today (April 14) at 10:30 am. Several comments, suggestions and critics were exposed by the attending journalists and intellects, while Judit Neurink and Shwan Muhamad answered the questions and showed their appreciation for both the critics and suggestions. Neurink explained that the website works with four languages. “This website is by Kirkuk people and for Kirkuk people, without any ethnic or religious discrimination,” she said.  Muhamad then talked about the editing.  According to Muhamad, three editors (Kurdish, Arabic and Turkmon) are working on a daily basis with the help of some translators to show what is going on in Kirkuk. Muhamad also talked about the unique nature of the website saying, “No media agency ever could act without bias towards one of the factions of Kirkuk, but from now on Kirkuk Now will undertake this mission to deliver what’s going on in Kirkuk without any bias.”
