Three trucks loaded with smuggled medicines were seized on Thursday January 31, 2019 at a security checkpoint at the southern entrance of Kirkuk province, a source from the Iraqi Commission of Integrity’s Kirkuk office told (KirkukNow).

Three truck drivers along with three drug store owners have been arrested

“The trucks were trying to smuggle tons of medicines without obtaining the approval of the Iraqi ministry of Health”, the source added, noting that “the trucks are now impounded at the commission’s office.”

The source confirmed that “the truck drivers along with 3 drug store owners have been arrested for their involvement in the smuggling attempt.”
