Kirkuk journalist dies
Bestoon Muhamad, after being in coma for nine months due to a car accident, died on May 13.
Bestoon Muhamad was born in 1986. He was involved in a car accident on August 6, 2011. He was in a coma for eight months up until the time of his death.
Metro Centre to Defense Journalists agency called on the Iraqi Presidency and the KRG Presidency to help Bestoon Muhamad, as “According to medical reports, Bestoon Muhamad needs medical care outside Kurdistan region, which is outside the capabilities of his family.”
After the call, Jalal Talabani, President of Iraq decided to undertake the expenses of any medical care, but he died before going abroad.
Bestoon Muhamad was born in 1986 and worked as a correspondent for the Sbeiy website and Goran Voice Radio, both belonging to the Wusha Company which is affiliated with the Gorran Movement. He was one of their most active correspondents.
His body was carried from Sulaimani to Kirkuk in a ceremony, and buried in the Panja Ali graveyard.
