Blood bank needs blood
Blood bank of Kirkuk
The blood bank in the Kirkuk Public Hospital needs blood after the series of explosions yesterday.
Srood Ahmed, director of the Hiwa Organization for women and children said, “The blood which was reserved in our bank is used and finished for the wounded people. We are informed now of running out of blood.”
She said, “The blood which is very much needed and necessary is A-positive, along with other types. The bank is under pressure.” She urged people to volunteer and offer blood if they are able to do so.
On July 23, a series of explosions hit Kirkuk and its surroundings which resulted in killing nine people and wounding 61.
