Kirkuk wins, riots follow
The match was played on July 15 in Kirkuk’s stadium as part of the second phase in the Iraqi Clubs Championship. In the first half, the first goal came late at the 44th minute by Diyar Rahman.
The goals started soon in the second half as Muhamad Kalaf scored the second goal in the 48th minute. Ali Oda in the 58th and Star Yasin in the 90th minute scored the third and fourth goals for Kirkuk.
When the match finished, Shurta fans attacked the referee until police and security forces controlled the riot and arrested some fans.
The case was moved to Baghdad court on July 16. Kamal Muhamad, a fan of Kirkuk called the accident ‘a hand to move the match out of Kirkuk’.
With this win, Kirkuk now has 47 points and has reached the 8th level. The next match of Kirkuk is against Baghdadiya.
