Provincial Elections law approved
The Iraqi parliament has approved the amended version of the provincial elections law after objections were raised by some MPs.
In its regular session of Wednesday August 1, the Iraqi parliament approved the second amendment of law number 36, year 2008 of provincial elections. The law was approved by the majority vote. Osama al-Nujaifi considered the law as a ‘great achievement’ for the parliament.
The parliament also approved two more laws, one of them for opening religious affairs for Christians, Yizidis, and Sabeans, the other was for student aid and grants.
