My name is Fayruz; I'm 9 years old. Everyday after school I help my father at work so that he can keep his small shop and never think of shutting it down in the future.

My father is 39; he became disable after he lost both his legs. He runs a small shop where he sells shoes and clothes inside the Sharya IDP camp in Duhok, which is our family's only source of income.

I am a fourth grade student. I go to work at the shop every day from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. If I didn't help my dad, he would never be able to go on.

We are a big family of eight: Four daughters and two sons as well as my parents; therfore we are desperate to keep this shop running.

Helping my dad at the shop has not affected my study, since I take my books with me to the shop to study there. Last year I got the first place in class.
