Sha'arin cafe is located in the Sha'arini Bazaar on the right bank of Mosul. It has been in existence for more than 50 years and it is named after the area.
My name is Jaafar Radhwan, 16. I have been working in this old cafe for more than a year. Unfortunately, the building has been damaged by the ISIS war.
We serve coffee, tea, milk and Shisha as well. The café is open from 8 am to 5 pm daily.
It is full of memories of the city's elderly citizens urging many people especially the young locals to visit it daily.
I am very happy and comfortable here in this old part of my city. Although I receive a small amount of money every day, it is enough for some of my needs and I am fine with it.
