Zahra paints disputed Khanaqin with colors of peace and co-existence
Zahra Nu’man, a passionate artist from Khanaqin

My name is Zahra Nu’man. I’m 30 years old and I live in Khanaqin. Every day I use my brush to paint the walls and draw arts to add life to the city streets.

My passion for art started at a young age. I often practiced this passion at home after doing my homework.

This passion continued to grow, and now I have 15 years of experience.

I finished school in Iran. When we returned to Khanaqin I faced communication problems; however, that didn’t stop me from pursuing my dreams until I finally graduated from the Fine Arts Institute in Khanaqin.

Many applauded my works while I faced criticism by others; yet, I refused to give up. If I get enough support, I am ready to tach other girls how to paint.

I try to bring life to my town and spread the message of peace and coexistence.
