An IED exploded in front of the headquarters of the Badr Organization in Kirkuk’s Musala neighbourhood, wounding one civilian woman and causing material damage.
Nasrin Murad, whose house was damaged by the explosion, told KirkukNow: “We were still asleep at 8 o’clock in the morning when we were awakened by a loud noise. The closet, air conditioner and other things in my home all fell. When we went outside, we realised that there was an explosion.”
The Badr Organization is an Iraqi Shiite Islamist political party and military organization headed by Hadi al-Amiri.
The police at the place of the incident confirmed that the explosion was caused by an IED. This is the second explosion within a week in the neighbourhood.
Shahin Shaba, another resident of the neighbourhood, said: “As I was about to go outside to go to work this morning, the bomb exploded just metres away from our house. About 15 houses are damaged; windows are shattered. Six cars have their windows shattered as well due to the explosion’s sound.”
“At the that moment, a woman was on her way to the market and got injured by the explosion. She was taken to the hospital immediately,” added Shahin.
