Two security personnel, one of them a member of the Nineveh Police, were killed on Sunday (06 Sep. 2020) by unknown gunmen near the Wardia village in Giruez (al-Qahtaniya subdistrict).
Jalal Khalaf, the mayor of the Giruez subdistrict, told KirkukNow: "Today, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, two security personnel were killed near the junction of Giruez subdistrict."
He added that the members of the 20th Division of the Iraqi army arrested four people on charges of that incident. He pointed out that "so far, those behind this crime have not appeared."
Jalal Khalaf claims that there are elements that want to create tension between Ezidis and Arabs in the region.
