Major roads reopened in Nineveh after six months since the COVID-19 outbreak

After six months of being closed as preventive measure agaisnt the spread of the COVID-19 virus, several major roads in Nineveh province are now reopened.

The Deputy Governor of Nineveh for administrative affairs, Rif’at Samo, told KirkukNow that the roads linking the regions Talkef, Alqosh, Talsqouf, Batnaya, which were closed due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, have been reopened.

He added that people can now use those roads without any travel restrictions, and that both the Federal government and the KRG have agreed on the reopning.

The Ministry of Immigration and Displacement said in a statement that the KRG responded to a request by the Federal Government to reopen the roads in Nineveh.
