Dohuk police arrested five people on charges of involvement in the killing of an Ezidi cleric in Nineveh’s Shékhan District.
26-year-old Miran Burhan Hamo, an Ezidi cleric, was killed on the night of 21 September.

A day after the killing, a cousin of the cleric, Harbi Samo Hamo, told KirkukNow that “Miran’s body was found near the village of Bétnaré in the Shékhan District,” and added “He was a decent and peaceful person. His family also never had any disputes with anyone. We are in shock. We don’t know who and why they did this.”
Miran was married and has three daughters.
