In a small corner of her father's house, Evan Abdullah started a simple project making soap from fruits and vegetables. This project expanded into a factory that now produces dozens of chemical-free cosmetic products.
Abdullah, a 30-year-old chemical engineer from Khanaqin district of Diyala province, began her project in 2019 while still a third-year college student. She initially experimented with making soaps and gifted them to classmates.
"The soaps I made pleased my classmates, and they encouraged me to start the project."
The project began in her father's house, in a small room with basic equipment. It grew to produce over 50 diverse soap, cosmetics, and skincare products, moving to a larger location.
“My project grew from a small workshop in my father's house to a small factory in my own house. Now my sister is my assistant and she has learned the trade,”
Evan's factory now produces more than 50 soap and cosmetic products. She shared with Kirkuk Now, "My project started in a small workshop in my father's house and has grown into a small factory in my home. My sister assists me, and I have learned the trade." Evan's project expanded after her marriage, and she is now a mother of one. She receives support from her husband and family.

Over the past six years, demand for Evan's products has increased, and she has become a local cosmetics brand, earning consumer praise. She believes in using natural ingredients to create safe and effective products free of harmful chemicals.
Evan conducts laboratory tests before marketing her products to ensure their safety. She imports some supplies from abroad, including advanced equipment and devices.
Evan hopes to expand her project into a global brand. She markets her products online, with customers from various areas of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Initially called "Evil," she later changed the name to "Evan" with a focus on environmental protection. She aims to make her products eco-friendly by avoiding plastic and using more glass-based materials.
Evan emphasizes that natural products may take time to show effects, promising stable and safe results rather than quick ones. She dreams of becoming a well-known brand both locally and internationally, building trust between cosmetics and consumers. Evan's project conveys a message of love and honesty from nature to humanity.
