Pulling Out Contraception Method Does not Cause Spinal Problems

KirkukNow

There is a common misconception among some individuals, particularly on social media, that following pulling out contraception method can lead to spinal or urinary tract issues.

However, Dilshad Hama Khurshid, a specialist in urinary tract surgery and kidney transplantation, has clarified that withdrawal contraception does not pose any health risks related to the spine or bladder.

The withdrawal (Pull Out) method of contraception (coitus interruptus) or external ejaculation happens when man takes the penis out of the vagina and ejaculate outside the vagina to try to prevent pregnancy, says Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Khurshid emphasized that the only potential downside of this method is the psychological discomfort it may cause for husband and wife, with men being more affected.

Other methods of contraception are hormonal pills, injections, subcutaneous armbands, and vaginal rings. Condoms are another contraceptive method that also protect women from sexually transmitted diseases.

Doctors recommend that couples especially women consult with a healthcare provider before choosing a contraception method. The best option depends on the individual's health, and a doctor can help determine the most suitable method.
