Three members of a family were killed at a poultry farm in Laylan subdistrict (south-east of Kirkuk City). A suspect, who is a relative of the family, has been arrested. In two other separate incidents, a woman was killed allegedly by her brother, and a young man drowned in a river.
All the incidents happened within 24 hours, according to more than one source within the security forces whom KirkukNow spoke to.

A source from the Laylan Police, told KirkukNow: “At the village of Shorijai-Shekh-Muhammad in Laylan subdistrict, a woman, a man and his nephew were killed this morning (Thursday). There were bullet holes on their bodies. All three of them were working at the poultry farm.”
He added: “Police has started an investigation. One suspect, who is a relative of the family, has been arrested. He had blood on his clothing. A young child, who belongs to the couple, was also wounded.”
The three have been working at the farm for the past 18 months. They come from the Qayrawan village in Shingal District, Nineveh.
“The suspect has said during the interrogation that a group of armed men forced him to take them to the place of the family, and once they arrived at the place, they started shooting and the three died there,” the source continued, adding that the suspect had probably tried to delete footage from a surveillance camera, as there was traces of bloody fingers on it.
In a separate incident, a 20-year-old woman was killed at her parents’ home after she goes there when she quarrels with her husband earlier that day.

According to a police source said: “According to investigations and witness testimonies, the woman's brother is the shooter. He has fled after killing his sister.”
An order to arrest the woman’s brother has been issued.
In a third incident, the body of a young man was found in the Little Zab river in the Pirdé (Altun-Kopri) subdistrict. According to Mazin Gharib, chief of emergency police, the man had drowned half an hour before his body was found.
The man is 20 years old, and his name is Arawan Hamza, and was a resident of Pirdé.
