An athlete women of weight lifting has passed away in a Kirkuk hospital on Saturday after 10 days of hospitalization due to gunfire by gunmen attakcer her house in Kirkuk for a family affair, investigations said by Kirkuk counter-crime police.
Media Faizullah, Iraq and Kurdistan athlete of weight lifting, wife of Mohammed Shamsadin, Asia 2019 champion of weight lifting, was shot by unknown gunmen in her house in Kirkuk on July 27th with her daughter.
“Two gunmen in military uniform storm the house, shot fire and escape,” said a statement y Kirkuk police. “They were driving a Nissan sedan with fake plate number."
Faizulla was also member of Kirkuk sport union. Her husband Shamsadin is trainer of body building and weight lifting in Kirkuk police. He was not at home when the gunmen shot his wife and 10-year-old daughter.
“Investigations after 72 hours led us to capture one of the suspects who committed the crime by a domestic motive while the second has fled to Kurdistan region,” police statement said.
Shamsadin confirmed to KirkukNow that two gunmen attacked his house while he was out, shot his wife and daughter in the neighborhood of Kurdistan in Kirkuk.
“She went under couple of surgeries but she was in an unstable health condition and passed away Saturday early in the morning,” he added.
Following participation in a tournament of weight lifting in Kirkuk, Faizullah speaks to KirkukNow saying her husband was very supportive and she was ranked in the first place in Kurdistan region.
She was one of the few women joined weight lifting and urged girls to join the field.

Shamsaddin was member of Iraq national team of wight lifting from 2005 up to 2017. He got medals in Arab championship and also the award of Asia Strongest man in 2019.
Located 238 kilometers north of Baghdad, Kirkuk is an ethnically mixed province for 1,2 million Kurds, Sunni and Shiite Arabs, and Turkmen. It has long been at the center of disputes between Baghdad and the Erbil.
Kirkuk is currently under control of Baghdad. Kirkuk Operations command is an umbrella for local and federal police, the Shiite paramilitary of Popular Mobilization Forces PMF known as Hashid al-Sha’abi and the Iraqi army.
