Drink of Boiled Cloves and Parsley Does Not Regulate Menstruation

"What should I do if I miss my period?" A Facebook page called Ranya Nature Center posted a video on February 16, 2025 for those experiencing irregular periods.

The video, which has been viewed 9,600 times and shared by 120 people, suggests that women mix cloves and parsley with boiled water, filter it, and drink it as a remedy for menstrual cramps.

Fake News?

Dr. Banaz Jalil, a specialist in gynecology, obstetrics, and infertility, told KirkukNow, "This solution is not effective for regulating menstruation. There is no scientific medical evidence to support the claims made in the video. It is all rumors by social media pages and they are not accurate."

"I urge girls and women who are experiencing irregular periods, missed periods, or any other menstrual issues to seek medical help by visiting a doctor. They should not rely on information they see on social media or the bazaar since they lack scientific proof."
